The nondestructive examination technology program at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) prepares students for careers in nondestructive testing of materials, equipment, or components. Coursework includes ultrasonics, radiography, liquid penetrant testing, visual testing, magnetic particle testing, and eddy current. The college offers an associate of applied science degree in nondestructive evaluation and testing, as well as certificates for the various nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods and online training in introduction to nondestructive examination and visual testing. Students will learn the inspection methods through applied theory and hands-on laboratory applications. Students also get training in the interpretation and implementation of codes and procedures as well as blueprint reading.
